Rally Coordinator

  • Great opportunity for a hard-working, determined community organiser looking to play a leading role in Australia’s community response to the international climate change negotiations in December 2015.
  • Lead the climate and civil society movement coordination and organising towards a mass mobilisation in Melbourne in late November 2015.
  • Help build collaboration and engagement for a powerful and united climate and civil society movement.

The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) stands for ecological sustainability. We get to the heart of environmental problems by tackling the underlying social and economic causes and have been a strong and effective voice for the environment for 50 years.

The Climate Change Program team is one of five teams in the Campaigns department of ACF.  Our Climate Change Program is responsible for the development and execution of ACF’s climate change campaign, including reduction of greenhouse pollution across the economy, increased uptake of renewable energy, and reducing fossil fuel dependence.

The Rally Coordinator will plan, lead, and coordinate a large cross-movement climate rally in Melbourne, as part of a national day of action in the lead up to the international climate change negotiations in Paris, in December 2015.

This will include: coordination across the climate movement; engaging grassroots community groups and individuals; building strong partnerships and collaboration with other civil society organisations; coordinating with ACF’s community organising and engagement teams to build distributed action on climate change in the lead up to and beyond the mobilisations.
